PARIS 2024 MEN’S SKATEBOARD PARK BETTING PREDICTIONS

PARIS 2024 MEN’S SKATEBOARD PARK BETTING PREDICTIONS

The Men’s Park event marks the thrilling finale of skateboarding at the Paris 2024 Olympics, set to take place at the Olympic Parc Urbain on Wednesday, August 7. The competition is full of heavy hitters, all capable of winning on a good day, and narrowing down the field of 22 skaters to the top six that we consider cover the board has been a daunting task.

Notably, Gavin Bottger and Keefer Wilson have been skating very well leading up to the Games and would probably have made it onto this list if not for being too young to be wagered on, similar to Ginwoo in the street competition.

Nevertheless, after crunching the numbers we are confident in our list of favorites, so let’s drill down and take a closer look at our picks and predictions for the Men’s Paris 2024 Skateboard Park competition.

FAVORITES
Keegan Palmer
Odds:
TBD

The defending Olympic Champion from Tokyo, Keegan Palmer has since his win in Tokyo three years ago solidified his position as one of the best park skaters in the world. With a slew of good results, just last month he not only won the Olympic Qualifier Series event in Budapest, but he also walked away with the gold at X Games Ventura. To say that he has hit peak form just in time for the Olympics is an understatement.

Tate Carew
Odds:
TBD

Tate Carew has been on an upward trajectory like no other and has racked up one good result after another over the last two years. He has reached every Olympic Qualifier Series Final since the beginning of last year, winning in Shanghai and placing third just last month in Budapest. Carew has proven to have the consistency and nerves needed to not only place well but potentially walk away with the win in Paris. After all, he is going into the Olympics as the number one qualified skater.

Tom Schaar
Odds:
TBD

Rounding out our list of favorites is Tom Schaar, arguably one of the most naturally gifted skateboarders on this list. Tom first burst onto the scene back in 2011 as one of the Mega Ramp kids together with Mitchie Brusco and Jagger Eaton. He has since then continued to excel in his skateboarding career and is no stranger to winning contests, with multiple wins in both X Games and Vans Park Series under his belt. Most recently, he placed second at the World Skate Olympic Qualifier series in Budapest, bumping out his former Mega Ramp buddy Jagger Eaton for the last spot on the USA Park team. He then followed up with a win in Vert at X Games Ventura. So, even though he lacks a little bit of that competitive mindset if he can get off to a good start and find his rhythm, he will be very hard to beat.

SLEEPERS
Pedro Barros
Odds:
TBD

The Brazilian powerhouse is without a doubt one of the most exciting skaters to watch. With his ability to generate speed and squat out of heavy landings without losing speed, he tends just to go faster and higher until he runs out of bowl. Pedro, besides Andy Mac, is the most experienced skater in the event. If he can keep his speed under control and not get over-amped, there is no telling what he will be able to do in Paris. So, don’t count out the silver medalist from Tokyo.

Alex Sorgente
Odds:
TBD

The Floridan skater now competing for Italy, rides padless and has style for days. Known for his free-flowing, and creative approach, Sorgente mixes technical tricks with gnar. Despite his seemingly off-the-cuff runs, he is extremely consistent. Just take a look at his long list of accolades, which includes back-to-back X Games golds in 2017 and 2018 and Vans Park Series podiums in Malmö, Vancouver, China, and Salt Lake City, to name a few. Sorgente recently placed second at X Games Ventura, besting many of the skaters competing in Paris, so keep an eye on him.

LONGSHOT
Kieran Wooley
Odds:
TBD

Kieran Wooley is another Aussie ripper who has been making a name for himself since the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, where he finished in fifth place. Kieran is a true ATV (all-terrain vehicle) charging everything from backyard pools, DIY spots, and concrete parks to street spots, riding fast and technical. He may not be as consistent and as highly ranked as his fellow Aussie Keegan Palmer, but make no mistake, he has the skills to go all the way in Paris.
