RIP CURL NARRABEEN CLASSIC RESULTS AND RECAP
Caroline Marks moves into the number two spot in the women’s world rankings and Gabriel Medina jumps into the number one spot.
In the men’s final Gabriel Medina was up against Conner Coffin. With 20 minutes left on the clock, Medina was sitting on an impressive 18.77 heat score to which Conner Coffin had no response.
This was Medina’s third final in a row, an impressive start by the usually slow-starting Brazilian. The win also moves Medina into the number one spot of the men’s WSL Championship Tour rankings ahead of fellow Brazilian Italo Ferreira.
Coffin reached his second WSL (World Surf League) final and his first since 2016.
In the first all-goofy foot final on the women’s tour since 2006, Caroline Marks defeated Brazil’s Tatiana Weston-Webb in a final decided by wave selection.
This was Caroline Marks third WSL Championship Tour win, a huge feat for the 19-year-old surfer. The win moves Marks into the number two spot of the women’s rankings behind compatriot Carissa Moore from Hawaii.
