2022 OI RIO PRO ODDS, PICKS, AND PREDICTIONS
The Surf City El Salvador Pro just finished with a nail-biter of a final between Felipe Toledo and Griffin Colapinto, who both put on a show despite mediocre conditions, and just like in Portugal earlier this season, Colapinto walked away with the win.
With the next stop only days away it’s high time to start looking at picks for the Oi Rio Pro as the World Surf League moves on to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for the 8th stop of the 2022 WCT.
The Saqaurema zone where the Oi Rio Pro is held offers two quality breaks, Itaúna and Barrinha where Itaúna is the more consistent of the two. A typical beachbreak with lefts and rights and it’s difficult to look past the Brazilians at their home break especially with Toledo and Medina surfing the way they do at the moment.
The Oi Rio Pro waiting period opens on June 23 and runs through June 30. If only every month were this packed with surf betting opportunities.
FAVORITES
Felipe Toledo
Odds:
3.50
Toledo is our favorite for the 2022 Oi Rio Pro, an event that the Brazilian has won three times, and even though you can’t compare the events, the last time Toledo lost a final against Colapinto he came back and won Bells, just saying.
Gabriel Medina
Odds:
4.25
Our second pick is Gabriel Medina. With two semi-finals in two events, the 3x World Champion pretty much needs a win if he is to make it into the Final Five and have a chance to claim a fourth World Champion title. The skills are there and even though we have Toledo as a slight favorite, backing Medina is never a bad bet.
Griffin Colapinto
Odds:
11.00
Third, on our list is the recent Surf City El Salvador Pro Champion Griffin Colapinto. The San Clemente native and new No. 3 on the WSL Championship Tour beat both Medina and Toledo on his way to the title in El Salvador and is looking like a potential value bet for the Oi Rio Pro.
