SLS SUPER CROWN FINAL BETTING PREDICTIONS

SLS SUPER CROWN FINAL BETTING PREDICTIONS

The 2023 SLS Championship Tour is coming to an end and the Super Crown Final is upon us. Before delving into our final predictions and top picks for the season, let’s quickly recap the three stops leading up to the Final.

The Season kicked off in Chicago back in April, introducing the new knockout round format. The first stop at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago came down to a nail-biter between Kelvin Hoefler and Ryan Decenzo where Kelvin landed a “Cab tailslide to fakie” on his very last trick attempt for his first SLS win since 2015 and a direct ticket to the Super Crown Final.

Hometown hero Yuto Horigome was, as predicted unstoppable at the second stop of the tour, and Yutornadoed his way to victory in the historic first-ever SLS event in Japan.

The third stop SLS Sydney marked another historic milestone as the first-ever SLS event in Australia. Also, this final came down to a nail-biter, but this time between Dashawn Jordan and Felipe Gustavo with the Brazilian coming out on top after landing a “nollie flip to frontside noseslide” on his last trick attempt. The win was a career first for Gustavo who has been a regular on tour since 2015.

Even though Kelvin, Yuto, and Felipe all have a direct ticket to the final only two have made it onto our list of favorites. Let’s take a closer look at our picks for the 2023 SLS Super Crown Final.

FAVORITES
Nyjah Huston
Odds:
TBA

At the top of our list, we find Nyjah Huston once again. The winningest SLS skater of all time has bounced back from his ACL injury last year and had an amazing comeback season with wins in Rome and Lausanne at the World Skate Olympic Qualifiers. However, a win on the SLS Championship Tour has eluded him placing third at all three stops. Nyjah is due for a win and we’re willing to bet on it happening in São Paulo at the SLS Super Crown Final.

Yuto Horigome
Odds:
TBA

Our second pick is also no big surprise. Yuto Horigome, through his win at SLS Tokyo, is already qualified for the final and is just like Nyjah, impossible to leave out of these lists. They are both so consistent and have such a big bag of tricks that the chance of one of them walking away with the win is just too big.

Kelvin Hoefler
Odds:
TBA

Kelvin Hoefler rounds out our list of favorites. The Brazilian, who locked in his spot in the final by winning in Chicago, is always in the mix. Kelvin’s consistency, “Halfcab Noseslide to Backtail,” and a roaring Brazilian crowd in São Paulo might very well carry him all the way to the title.

SLEEPERS
Kairi Netsuke
Odds:
TBA

Kairi made an impressive SLS debut in Sydney, making it all the way from the Select Series to the final where he came out swinging with a 9,4 in his first run. Even though he later got stuck trying a “Kickflip Backtail to Bigspin out” in the best trick section, he clearly has what it takes, so let’s keep an eye on Kairi.

Lucas Rabelo
Odds:
TBA

Lucas Rabelo continues to impress with another strong showing at SLS Sydney, getting past Dashwan Jordan, Jamie Foy, Manny Santiago, and Giovanni Vianna in the knockout round and finishing fourth in the final. With Rabelo’s upward trend and the help of the Brazilian fans, he could make it all the way to the top of the podium in São Paulo.

LONGSHOT
Chris Joslin
Odds:
TBA

The fact that Chris Joslin has had a somewhat mediocre season and is yet to reach a final has only raised his value for all of us who know his potential. Besides being one of the most exciting skaters to watch, on a good day, he is almost unstoppable and the perfect longshot for the SLS Super Crown Final.
